Haryana: Dalit employees’ organisations support farmers’ agitation | Chandigarh News

AMBALA: In Haryana, a large number of dalit, majdoor, backward-class and employees’ organisations have given support to the ongoing farmers’ agitation against the Centre’s three controversial agri-business laws.
Several of these organizations have united under the ‘People’s Social Action Meeting’ (PSAM), and so far, held two meetings to decide on support to the farmers each at national capital Delhi and Rohtak in Haryana respectively.
A call has also been given to hold a rally at some venue in Uklana or Barwala constituency of Hisar district on February 19.
As per the information, on Thursday, the representatives of these organizations met Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Haryana leader Gurnam Singh Charuni during his visit at Makrauli toll plaza on Panipat-Rohtak highway in Rohtak district, where they ensured Charuni a complete support in the fight against the Centre’s laws.
The leaders of these organisations have said that the laws passed by the Central government would be impacting the livelihoods of all sections of the society and middle-class employees, youths, common people, labourers and dalit sections would be the worst affected sections.
Thanking these organisation, Charuni said, “I want to thank the brothers from majdoor, dalit and bahujan society who are standing with us today and given support to the Kisan andolan. Today, both of us, the exploited sections of the society stand united. I am thankful to them that they have understood that these laws are going to affect them too. They have called a panchayat on February 19.”
A social activist Dharampal of Barwala, Hisar said, “We met Charuni Ji at Makrauli toll plaza and have given him full support. The Centre’s three laws are not only concerned to the farmers but it affects the livelihood of all common sections of the society, therefore, we have decided to support them. It is not a small fight but a fight of system change. We have decided to initiate a movement and hold a rally with support of several dalit, employees and majdoor unions in our area on February 19. A meeting to decide the venue of the rally has been called at Badopatti toll plaza on Hisar-Tohana road.”
Suresh Dravid, national organizing secretary of All-India Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation said, under the ‘PSAM’ to decide on giving support to the farmers, two meetings have been held, first at Dr BR Ambedkar Bhawan in New Delhi on January 17 attended by 52 organisations and second at Dr BR Ambedkar Public School in Rohtak on January 31 attended by 25 organisations in Haryana.
Some organizations giving support to farmers include Bahujan Social Front, Ravidas Mahasabha, Dr BR Ambedkar Shikhsha Samiti Haryana, Dr BR Ambedkar Federation University and College Welfare Association, All Haryana Power Cooperation SC-BC Employees Union, Labour Kranti Morcha, Bhim Army Bharat Ekta Mission, Mission Ekta Samiti, Haryana Anusuchit Jaati Rajkiya Adhyapak Sangh, All Haryana SC Employees Federation, Samman Bharat, Mission Kashiram, Dr Ambedkar Sangathan Bhiwani and others.
